Clear Acrylic Rod - Extruded in 6ft lengths / Cast in 4ft lengths

We stock a wide variety of extruded and cast acrylic rod. The difference? Extruded rod is squeezed out of the machines like toothpaste from a tube. It keeps the price low, but there remains a lot of stress from the manufacturing process. In addition, the working temperature is low, about 150° F.

Cast acrylic rod is actually cast as an individual piece and then ground and polished to a luster. Obviously, it costs more, but has the advantage of higher working temperatures and the ability to be tapped, drilled, and machined without melting during these processes. It is more resistant to stresses, temperature and some weak chemicals that would attack the extruded version.

Cast rods ship in 1 to 2 weeks.
